He came to the ELM staff in 1997 from Grace Fellowship Ministries in Huntsville, Alabama, where he served from 1993 to 1997 in counseling, training, and conducting GraceLife Conferences for youths and adults. He has studied at Augustana College and the Lutheran School of Theology. He was a collegiate tennis coach and professional tennis instructor, and has participated in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Navigators. In 1994 he was joined in ministry and marriage by his wife, Ellen, who also has vast experience as a counselor and discipler.
